Costs per culture:

The CPCC is partially funded by NSERC, which is a Canadian government organization and as such, offers cultures and services at a lower rate to non-profit institutions such as universities and government laboratories. Rates per culture are $80 for Canadian non-profit users, $100 for other non-profit users and $175 per culture for commercial users. An extra culture of each requested strain can be supplied for a fee of $35 per culture for Canadian non-profit users, $40 per culture for other non-profit users and $60 for commercial users. Shipping and handling charges are added and these vary according to the destination and weight of the package. See shipping information below. There are no taxes. Cultures are shipped in liquid medium or when possible, on agar. The usual volume supplied for liquid cultures is 15 ml. Larger cultures of up to several litres are available on special order. If you require large numbers of cultures a quantity discount may be applied. Please contact the Curator for details.

For costs of media and other services please go to the section Services or contact the curator for further details.

Placing your order

For institutions and companies: please obtain a purchase order number from your accounting department if required by your institution. We also need the full shipping address including street name and number as courier shipments cannot be made to a P.O. Box. In order to provide the best service, we require the name, telephone number and email address of the end user so the person can be contacted regarding any details or questions about the order. Also please indicate the postal address, telephone number and email address for the person to whom the invoice should be directed, if different from the shipping address.

It is very helpful if you let us know the purpose for which the cultures will be used so that we can advise on the best strain for the project. Also it provides us with information that would be useful to the funding agency, NSERC, regarding the types of research being conducted with CPCC cultures.
